US EIA data showed commercial crude stocks at 409.8 million barrels and distillate inventories at 99.3 million barrels, with weekly declines of 0.9 million and 3.6 million barrels, respectively. Distillate stocks were 11% below their year-earlier level, while refinery crude inputs reached 16.725 million barrels per day.
Falling crude and especially distillate inventories point to tighter available supply, which can support crude and diesel prices and sustain refinery demand for feedstock.
