China's central parity rate for the yuan weakened 22 pips to 7.0405 per US dollar on Monday, according to the China Foreign Exchange Trade System. Spot trading is allowed to move 2 percent either side of the fixing, which is set from a weighted average of market-maker quotes before the interbank market opens.
A weaker yuan makes Chinese exports cheaper and can dampen Chinese import demand for feed-grade commodities priced in dollars. The move is small, so the price implication for feed buyers is limited.
After 398 past bullish macro events, Chinese Yuan (CNY per USD) moved a median +0.0% over 5 sessions (56% higher; middle half -0.3% to +0.5%), and +0.0% over 20.
