December lean hog futures hit another contract low as cash hog prices and the CME Lean Hog Index continued to fall. Weekly U.S. pork export sales were 37,300 tons, 5% above the four-week average, while the pork cutout value declined, led by losses in bellies.
Falling cash prices and pork values point to weaker near-term hog demand and weigh on futures. Export sales above their recent average provide some demand support but have not reversed the bearish price trend.
