OCP subsidiary OCP SPS has notified Morocco’s Competition Council of its plan to acquire the stakes in Euro Maroc Phosphore (Emaphos) held by German company Budenheim and Belgian company Prayon. Each currently owns one-third of Emaphos; the first acquisition would give OCP exclusive control, and completion of both would make OCP the sole owner.
The deal changes ownership of a phosphate-sector company but the article does not report any change in output, trade flows, or fertilizer availability, so no direct price effect is evident.
