Canada and China agreed to extend the suspension of China’s 100% tariffs on Canadian canola meal through the end of 2028. The tariff-free arrangement had been set to expire on December 31, 2026, and the extension provides continued access for Canadian meal in China.
Maintaining tariff-free access supports Canadian canola meal exports and Chinese import demand, reducing trade uncertainty and potentially supporting meal prices relative to a return of the tariff.
