The Grain Farmers of Ontario March-April 2017 market report says large 2016 crops and record South American harvests have created huge global grain supplies and weighed on prices all winter. The USDA's March 9 WASDE raised Brazil soybean output to a record 108 MMT and Brazil corn to 91.5 MMT, and it lifted global corn, soybean and wheat stocks.
Large global supplies, especially Brazilian soybean and corn, keep downward pressure on feed grain and soybean prices. Buyers can expect ample supply for the near term unless the spring crop weather turns.
