The Indian rupee rose 56 paise to close at 93.91 per dollar on Friday, its biggest one-day gain since October 12, and reached a six-month high during the session. Foreign portfolio inflows and lower crude prices supported the currency, while RBI dollar buying near 93.88 limited further gains.
