Kazakhstan expects its 2026 oilseed harvest to exceed 5 million tonnes, about 2.5 times the 2025 crop. In Kostanay Region, roughly one million tonnes were harvested this autumn, but local processors handle only about 30% as much of the crop is shipped elsewhere; reported regional prices were lower than last year.
The larger harvest increases potential oilseed availability, while farmers’ preference to sell to the highest bidder and limited local processing could shift supply away from domestic crushers and pressure local prices.
