The dollar weakened against the Vietnamese dong, with Vietcombank’s selling rate down 0.08% to VND25,780, its lowest since March 2025. Vietnam’s central reference rate was lowered 0.03% to VND25,615, while the dollar index rose 0.3% globally.
A stronger dong can reduce the local-currency cost of imported feed and grain, though the reported exchange-rate move alone does not establish a change in commodity demand. The dollar index’s gain may provide some offset for dollar-priced imports.
