USDA’s APHIS announced expanded Farm Bill animal-health programs, with annual funding for three programs rising from $30 million to $233 million starting in fiscal year 2026. The additional funding will support disease preparedness and response, laboratory capacity, and vaccine and veterinary countermeasure stockpiles.
More funding for surveillance and response could reduce the risk of disruptive livestock disease outbreaks, helping limit future supply shocks. The announcement does not point to an immediate change in feed demand or commodity prices.
