South Korea’s Daesang received approval to export domestically produced lysine to Brazil after the Korean agriculture ministry helped resolve registration requirements. An initial shipment of about 20 tonnes is planned for this year, followed by a target of 1,200 tonnes worth $2 million next year.
The deal opens a new export market for Korean lysine and adds a source of feed-grade amino acid for Brazilian livestock producers. The planned volumes are modest, so the effect on broader lysine prices is likely limited.
