The São Paulo Hog Exchange lowered its live-hog reference price to R$125 per arroba, or R$6.67/kg, down about 6% from R$133 the prior week. Its November 5 bulletin recorded 21,780 hogs traded and listed corn at R$66.47 per sack.
The lower hog benchmark can squeeze producer margins and weaken near-term incentives for feed use, although the reported trading volume provides a measure of market activity. The cited hog-to-corn price ratio was 1.88.
