Peru’s Sanipes launched an online “Atención FEN” module to expedite sanitary authorization, registration and certification procedures for fishery and aquaculture producers affected by El Niño. The service is part of the government’s emergency plan for the fishing and aquaculture subsectors and is intended to help maintain productive activity.
Faster processing could help affected producers keep operating, but the announcement provides no evidence of a material change in fish supply or feed-ingredient prices.
