Russian wheat exports in October were estimated at 2.9 million tonnes, the highest monthly volume so far in the 2026/27 season, up from 2.1 million tonnes in August. Shipments increased through Baltic ports and limited Black Sea port activity, but exports remained below usual levels as rail congestion and constrained alternative routes limited further growth.
The export recovery adds wheat to global supply and can weigh on prices, but volumes are still well below last year and alternate routes are nearing capacity. Rail bottlenecks and limited port access could restrict additional shipments.
After 137 past bearish logistics events, Wheat (SRW) moved a median -0.3% over 5 sessions (44% higher; middle half -2.2% to +1.0%), and +0.0% over 20.
