Colombia recorded a larger net capital inflow in the second quarter of 2026 even as its external liabilities contracted. Banco de la República data show that residents’ liquidation of foreign assets was the main factor, contributing $13.453 billion toward the increase in inflows, while the reversal in external-liability funding subtracted $10.665 billion.
The asset liquidation helped increase net inflows and may support the peso, potentially lowering the local-currency cost of imported feed. The figures describe capital flows rather than a direct change in agricultural commodity supply or demand.
