The dollar opened in Colombia at 3,215 pesos on November 5, while the representative market rate was 3,221.19 pesos, down 14.4 pesos from the previous session. The rate was 1.86% higher than a week earlier and 1.6% lower than a month earlier.
A lower dollar rate means a firmer Colombian peso, which can reduce the local-currency cost of imported feed and agricultural commodities. The report gives a daily exchange-rate update rather than a new underlying market driver.
