Turkmenistan has begun construction of a vegetable-oil plant in Dashoguz region with capacity to process 60,000 tonnes of cottonseed annually. The facility is expected to produce vegetable oil and employ around 250 people.
Additional cottonseed-crushing capacity could increase local availability of cottonseed meal as a co-product, putting modest downward pressure on meal prices if supply grows faster than demand.
