Pakistan’s government proposed raising the combined 2026–27 production target for canola, sunflower, and rapeseed/mustard to 883,732 tonnes, 8.2% above the previous year’s output. The proposed cultivated area would expand by 8.1% to 682,140 hectares.
If achieved, expanded oilseed acreage and output could increase domestic supplies of oilseed products and reduce import needs, easing local prices. The targets are plans rather than confirmed production.
