A ProPublica investigation reports an ongoing bird flu outbreak on a Utah mink farm, where the virus has circulated for over two months. Experts warn that mink, which carry receptors for human flu, could serve as an intermediate host and allow a mutation that spreads to humans.
The story is mainly a public-health risk concern and does not directly change feed supply or prices unless the outbreak spreads to livestock or poultry.
