Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down 0.12% at 11,464.81 points at midday, after opening higher and trading between 11,429.52 and 11,617.00. Gold rose 1.5% to $4,120 an ounce, and January Brent crude gained 1.3% to $95.90 a barrel.
The euro/dollar stood at 1.1230 and the dollar was quoted at about 50.05 lira in the Istanbul free market.
Brent around $96 and gold near $4,120 reflect the ongoing energy and risk premium linked to the Middle East, which feeds into diesel and fertilizer costs for feed producers. The routine intraday moves carry no new cause, so the signal for feed ingredient prices is limited.
