US crude futures settled at $90.52 a barrel, up $2.40 from the prior session after a drop of more than 8% on Wednesday. The rebound followed reports of at least five vessel incidents in the Gulf and renewed diplomatic contacts involving Iran.
Technical support was defended near $86.65 to $86.93.
