US grain markets opened Thursday mostly higher, with corn and wheat rising while January soybeans held above $12. Weekly ethanol output reached a 10-month high of 336 million gallons, and September corn exports hit a record 7.084 million tonnes.
Traders are awaiting next week's USDA reports, and a Reuters poll points to slightly higher US soybean and lower corn production.
Strong ethanol grind and record export shipments support corn demand and feed-grain prices. Soybeans remain weak on fund selling, weak crush margins and a seven-month low in soyoil, which points to lower soymeal costs for feed buyers.
