Austral Group received approval from Peru's Production Ministry (Produce) to raise the processing capacity of its high-protein fishmeal plant in Coishco from 160 to 180 tonnes per hour. The company disclosed the change to the securities regulator, without giving an investment figure or a start date for the new capacity.
The added plant capacity is a small increase in processing capacity, but it only matters if raw anchovy supply recovers, so the price effect is minimal for now.
