Fonterra raised its 2026/27 farmgate milk price forecast to NZ$9.75 per kgMS, equal to about 4.89 euros, with a range of 4.51 to 5.27 euros. The increase follows about 5% and 7% rises in whole milk powder and skim milk powder prices at the last two Global Dairy Trade auctions.
Higher powder prices from Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa and China point to firm global dairy demand and support export-oriented milk values. Stronger payout expectations can lift feed demand from New Zealand dairy farms.
