Russia's 2026 oilseed harvest reached 35.4 million tonnes, with about 93% of sown area harvested. Sunflower output rose 27.9% to over 19 million tonnes, led by Orenburg, Saratov and Rostov, while rapeseed rose 17.3% to 6.8 million tonnes, led by Altai Krai, Oryol Oblast and Krasnoyarsk Krai.
A larger Russian sunflower and rapeseed crop adds export supply of sunflower meal and canola meal, which is bearish for protein meal prices and gives feed buyers more origin options.
