Wicklow farmer Angus Woods, who converted to organic tillage three years ago, was named Flahavan's Organic Oat Grower of the Year for 2026. The award was presented at Flahavan's annual organic oat growers conference in Portlaoise, which discussed investment and cooperation in the Irish tillage sector.
The award has no measurable effect on oat supply or prices. It does show Irish organic oat supply is being built through growers converting to organic production, and Flahavan's testing of every load from over 200 growers underlines its quality standards.
