Perum Bulog's North Sumatra office has distributed 3,048 tons of subsidised corn under the Food Supply and Price Stabilisation (SPHP) programme to layer farmers, against an assignment of 3,601 tons. The corn is sold at Rp 5,000 per kg, versus local feed-corn prices of Rp 7,400 to 7,800, and must be used for feed only.
Subsidised corn sales cap feed costs for layer farms and can ease local egg price pressure. The volumes are small relative to regional demand, so the impact on corn prices is limited.
After 439 past neutral policy events, Corn moved a median +0.1% over 5 sessions (51% higher; middle half -1.3% to +1.2%), and +1.1% over 20.
