Chinese amino acid prices were mixed this week. Methionine quotes rose from 25,000 to 25,500 yuan/t on producer price support and tight spot supply.
Threonine producers raised offers to a market price of 7,300 yuan/t, while 70% lysine held at 4,050 yuan/t and lysine plant utilisation fell from 61% to 56%.
Tighter methionine spot supply and lower lysine output support feed amino acid costs for formulators. Methionine is firming, while lysine is steady with a modest supply-side floor.
