Hong Kong's Centre for Food Safety suspended poultry meat and egg imports from Rogaland County in Norway and the Scottish Borders in the UK after WOAH reported highly pathogenic H5N1 outbreaks there. Hong Kong imported about 20 tonnes of poultry meat from Norway and about 680 tonnes from the UK in the first nine months of 2026.
The import suspension affects small volumes from two origins and has minimal effect on global poultry prices, though it reflects ongoing avian flu pressure in Europe.
