Yam, northern rice, millet and sorghum are being harvested in Ghana this November, and the south's minor-season maize harvest begins in December. Ghana Statistical Service data showed food prices fell 2% between September and October, and maize cost 27.2% less than a year earlier.
The harvest mainly affects local West African food prices and has little effect on global feed grain supply or prices. Lower local maize and sorghum prices may ease domestic feed costs in Ghana.
