At the 3 November 2026 Global Dairy Trade auction, the price index rose 3.0%, with whole milk powder up 5.9% to $3,971 a tonne and cheddar up 8.6%. Butter fell 4.7% to $4,503 and anhydrous milk fat dropped 3.2% to $5,306.
Powders and butter moved in opposite directions, so a single dairy index hides different cost pressures across ingredient baskets. For feed buyers, the effect on feed commodities is limited, as the move is confined to dairy ingredient markets.
