Fertilizer maker Mosaic reported a third-quarter 2026 operating loss of $97 million, against a $36 million loss in the prior quarter and $340 million earnings a year earlier. Net sales were $3.1 billion, and net loss narrowed to $72 million.
Phosphate and Mosaic Fertilizantes posted operating losses of $194 million and $21 million, while potash earned $189 million.
Mosaic expects phosphate margins to fall further in the fourth quarter as costlier sulfur bought in the third quarter feeds into finished products, pointing to firmer phosphate fertilizer prices for feed and crop producers.
