The Colombian peso's official representative market rate (TRM) closed at 3,219 pesos per US dollar on 4 November, down 23 pesos from the prior day. The dollar had opened at about 3,235.59 pesos after the previous day's close of 3,182.99.
The peso strengthened against the dollar after US midterm election results weakened the Trump administration's position and investors weighed fiscal spending. For feed buyers, a firmer peso slightly lowers the local-currency cost of dollar-priced grain and meal imports into Colombia.
