AgriSA has publicly backed its member Grain SA in calling for a review of how the JSE determines soybean location differentials. AgriSA says farmers face rising input and financing costs and subdued commodity prices, and urged the JSE to use its powers to ensure fair pricing.
Location differentials set the local premium or discount paid to South African soybean producers, so changes to them would shift domestic soybean prices and the value of beans available for crushing into meal.
