Thailand's Commerce Minister Supajee Suthumpun said prices for key Thai farm products, including rice, rubber, cassava and animal-feed corn, have improved. The ministry aims to keep rice prices stable through the main-crop harvest while seeking additional export markets.
Rubber prices are reported at their best level in decades, and cassava is trading around 3 baht or slightly below 4 baht per kg, with feed corn above 9 baht.
Higher Thai corn and cassava prices tighten the feed-ingredient supply from a major Asian exporter and support local feed costs. Supported rice prices may reduce Thai export competitiveness, and the E20/B20 biofuel mandates mentioned could lift demand for palm oil and sugarcane.
