Nutrien and Mosaic reported that their average potash selling prices in the third quarter were close to a year earlier, at $275 and $276 per tonne respectively. Regional differences were notable: Nutrien's North American prices fell $9 to $310 per tonne while prices elsewhere rose $3 to $253.
Stable potash prices from major Western producers suggest no near-term cost shock for potash-based fertiliser inputs, while Nutrien expects global potash supply to rise to 75-79 million tonnes, which is mildly bearish for fertiliser costs.
