The State Bank of Vietnam announced a 182-day foreign exchange swap of up to $2 billion, the longest such operation to date. It will buy dollars spot at VND24,399 and sell them forward at VND24,704 to give banks longer-term dong funding.
The swap eases bank liquidity and could lower lending rates in Vietnam, supporting domestic demand for feed and livestock output. It has no direct effect on global feed commodity prices.
