Bank dollar rates fell through the week to their lowest level in about 18 months, with Vietcombank quoting 25,520-25,930 VND per USD on November 4. The central rate was 25,267 dong, and the dollar index dropped nearly 0.9% to around 101.3.
Techcombank expects USD/VND to hover near 26,000, supported by an interest rate gap and record FDI disbursement.
A weaker dollar lowers the dong cost of imported feed ingredients, but the interest rate gap and FDI inflows may keep the dong from strengthening much further. Feed buyers should watch the 26,000 level.
