Russian wholesale broiler meat prices rose 37% year on year by late October, with fillet up 42% and thigh up 38%, according to Kommersant citing market participants. Rosstat data show consumer chicken prices reached 267.8 rubles per kg in September, up from 231.3 a year earlier, and output of poultry for slaughter fell 3.6% in January-September in agricultural enterprises.
Lower domestic poultry output and firm prices point to tighter Russian chicken supply, which supports feed demand for corn, soybean meal and other feed ingredients.
