Norway's Mattilsynet confirmed an H5N1 outbreak on a commercial poultry farm in Klepp, Rogaland, on November 3, 2026. About 7,500 birds were culled.
A 3 km protection zone and a 10 km surveillance zone were set up, with extra measures in seven municipalities. A separate outbreak was also reported with 6,000 turkeys culled in Aurich, Germany.
Localized poultry culls in Europe can tighten regional supply and add trade restrictions on poultry products. At this scale the effect on feed and poultry prices is small.
