A magnitude 3.5 mining-induced tremor struck a mined-out area of Mosaic's K3 mine at Esterhazy, Saskatchewan, on November 3, with production uninterrupted and no injuries. The same day Mosaic cut its 2026 potash production forecast by about 4.4% to 8.6 million tonnes on lower-than-expected ore grades.
A cut to Esterhazy's output, one of the world's largest potash mines, reduces global potash supply and supports potash prices. Buyers should watch for further geological constraints at the site.
