Grain prices slipped during the week as crude oil fell and US midterm election results came through. French rapeseed for November 2027 fell from €536/t on Friday to €525.50/t on Wednesday, and French December wheat dipped to €224.75/t.
The USDA reported 74% of the US corn harvest and 88% of soybeans harvested by 1 November.
Lower crude oil weakens the biofuel-linked demand case for vegetable oils and rapeseed, which feeds through to meal and oilseed prices. Harvest progress and the election outcome add near-term pressure on US grain and soybean prices.
