The State Bank of Vietnam plans a USD/VND swap on November 6 with a 182-day maturity and a maximum size of $2 billion, with a spot buying rate of 24,399 VND/USD and forward selling rate of 24,704 VND/USD. If fully used, it would inject nearly 49,000 billion VND into the banking system, far longer than the 7-21 day swaps used earlier in 2026.
The longer tenor signals a sustained effort to support the dong and provide VND liquidity, which can ease pressure on local currency and funding costs for Vietnamese feed importers and processors.
