Northwest European diesel refining margins fell more than 4% on Wednesday as oil prices declined on expectations of reduced tensions in the US-Israeli war on Iran. Low-sulphur gasoil futures were at a $68.87 per barrel premium to Brent, down nearly $3, and the U.S. Energy Department agreed to loan 300,000 barrels of heating oil from its reserve to four companies.
Lower European diesel margins reflect easing crude and product prices, which reduces near-term cost pressure on freight and fuel-linked feed logistics, although tight distillate supply still limits downside.
