At the CME on Wednesday, cash dairy prices were mostly higher. Nonfat dry milk rose 2.75 cents to $2.1875 per pound, dry whey gained 10 cents to $0.85, and 40-pound cheese blocks rose a cent to $1.5875.
Butter fell 1.75 cents to $1.28 and cheese barrels were unchanged at $1.725.
Routine daily cash price moves show firm powder demand, which supports milk component values, while cheese and butter were mixed. The move is a small routine market update with no new supply or demand cause.
