Chicago SRW, KC HRW and MIAX spring wheat futures were modestly higher on Wednesday, with front-month contracts up 1 to 5 cents. Census data showed US wheat exports of 1.546 million tonnes in September, down 14.83% from August and less than half the level of a year earlier.
Weak US export shipments in September point to soft demand for US wheat, which limits upside in futures even as prices edge higher. The moves are small, so the price effect is minor.
