The Dodram pig farmers' cooperative held a completion ceremony on October 28 for a processed feed facility at its subsidiary's Jeongeup plant in Jeonbuk. The expansion adds pellet and crumble lines with monthly capacity of about 10,000 tonnes, replacing reliance on contract manufacturing.
The cooperative says processed feed raises daily weight gain by 6.4% and improves feed conversion by 5.3%.
This is a company-level capacity addition in South Korea, with modest effect on feed ingredient demand. Better feed conversion for pork producers could slightly reduce per-kg feed use, a small bearish factor for grain and meal demand.
