Salmon farmer Bakkafrost reported Q3 2026 operational EBIT of 128 million DKK, up from 22 million DKK a year earlier, driven by strong Faroese biology and a doubling of earnings in its fishmeal, oil and feed segment. Group harvest volumes fell 10 percent to 27,634 tonnes gutted weight, and earnings missed market expectations, pushing its Oslo-listed shares lower.
The fishmeal, oil and feed segment's doubling of earnings reflects firm fishmeal economics, while the lower harvest volumes reduce salmon supply. Neither effect is large enough on its own to move feed commodity prices.
