The National Institute of Animal Science held its 2026 Feed Expert Council on October 28 with the Korea Feed Association and the Korea Single-Ingredient Feed Association, drawing about 50 attendees from roughly 20 feed producers and government bodies. Discussion focused on expanding use of agri-food by-products in feed, diversifying supply chains, and precision feeding technology.
Korean feed makers depend heavily on imported corn and soybean meal, so efforts to lean on domestic by-products could modestly reduce import demand over time. The effect on world prices is small, however, as this is a policy-level discussion with no immediate volume change.
After 439 past neutral policy events, Corn moved a median +0.1% over 5 sessions (51% higher; middle half -1.3% to +1.2%), and +1.1% over 20.
After 206 past neutral policy events, Soybean Meal moved a median -0.4% over 5 sessions (44% higher; middle half -2.3% to +1.8%), and -0.7% over 20.
