A commentary on Peru's high seas jack mackerel (jurel) fishery says the Peruvian fleet used its full quota in the OROP zone and purchased an additional amount. It also says official PRODUCE and SUNAT figures do not reconcile landings, exports and domestic sales, so the destination of the catch cannot be measured precisely.
Jack mackerel is mainly a human-consumption and domestic-market species, so the data gaps have little direct effect on feed ingredient supply or prices.
